After reading the Beginner's Guide, you are probably confident in your abilities to make money. This guide covers the more advanced guides for one to achieve galactic domination.

Faction Behavior[]

One thing to always keep in mind is the trend of factions.

Factions can be divided into three types: Empires, Bandits, and everyone else.

Empire factions are the only ones actively competing over sector control. They will gradually claim neighboring unclaimed sectors, and wage wars over border sectors. They are the only factions that will actively construct Sector Headquarters and trade stations.

Bandit factions are hostile to most lawful factions by default. Established bandits (with unique names) may operate out of isolated sectors, while sector bandits (with faction name comprising of a sector name + bandits) roam the sector they are in, attacking ships that pass through.

Factions classified as "Trader", "Miner", "Passenger transport", and "Scavenger" generally operate fleets of ships doing their aforementioned activities, and will often dismantle any stations or ships that fall under their control due to being abandoned. "Outlaw" factions occupy outposts and repair shops and occasionally trade, while "Bar" factions consist of a Bar and fleets of trader vessels.

There are also Mercenaries or also know as the "Mercenary" factions. They simply go around actively traffic sectors in hopes to get hired. They can be hired by almost any faction aside bandits. You'd be surprised to see a minor faction with a Mercenary escort. The player can hire a Mercenary to follow his ship if he wishes for a whole day or a few hours.

Relationship Behavior[]

if you check the faction interface, you will see a list of all the factions. Clicking on one shows a list of information about them; two known ones being friends and enemies. Depending on the game mode you start with, your "friends" and "enemies" section will have other faction names there or be in one side instead of the other.

- Friend Relationship Behavior[]

Having friendly relationship with another faction has its benefits. From having a bit cheaper rates in buying ships or commodities from them, to having them sometimes declare war to the enemy faction that attacks you while in their presence. So keeping a relationship with a good empire or well-off faction is always good.

When you first start most game modes, you will have every and all non-hostile faction as neutral. You can increase a faction's relationship with you by doing this two things.

1: Missions for that faction; By doing missions for the faction of interest, your relationship with them slowly increases and higher missions helps a little.

2: Fighting the faction they are against; another way is either by fighting their enemies or helping them when they are being attacked. This greatly improves their friendship towards you as they value the help or feel the brotherhood of your involvement in destroying their enemies.

Which ever method you choose to do will increase their relationship towards you and you can reap the benefits from it. One example is the fact you can attack any ship in the sector of your friendly faction and not have them be angry with you. Although keep in-mind, your actions will affect your relationship.

- Enemy Relationship Behavior[]

This one is a bit straight forward. Do something that is unjust, evil or against them will result in you having a bad relationship with them causing you to be in war with them. There are multiple ways to do so for example, stealing their cargo, destroying their ships, attacking their stations, e.t.c

Anything bad against their justice or their role will do. however, doing this will give you favour for the bandits and evil factions so you still have a side you can team up with.

-NOTE;

The more you do something for a certain faction in a good manner, the more their faction name turns green in the faction tab while doing something bad or attacking them/fellow faction friends causes the faction name to turn Red. A bright GREEN means you are fully friends with them. A bright RED means they are your enemies.

if you want to stop being enemies with a faction, you can attempt a truce. Sometimes it works, sometimes they will just take your credits and declare war with you again. And most times, they won't even listen to your truce request.
